A Unique Plan
Our Saturday Programme
On Saturdays our international students attend morning classes in our school followed by an excursion. The students are brought to our school by their host families or by bus at 10:00am and collected in the evening at 5:00pm. It’s a great opportunity to spend time with the other international students, make new friends and experience Dublin city at the same time. It gives structure to our homestay programme similar to that of a boarding school. Our students are never bored with us!
Sundays are a family day, and the student can participate in whatever the family has organised. Alternatively, they can make their own plans, meet their friends, and have fun.
Cambridge Preparation Classes
Students attend Cambridge Preparation classes on Saturday mornings from 10:30am to 12:00. The classes take place in Rockbrook School. There are generally about 15–17 students per class. They do grammar and conversation classes with a Cambridge exam focus. Our Saturday teachers are experienced and dynamic.
Excursions
The morning classes are followed by an activity. Depending on the weather, it could be indoor or outdoor. We vary the activities every Saturday. It could be a cultural experience like visiting a castle or museum, or a fun activity like bowling or swimming. Young adult leaders will accompany them on their days out.
Pocket Money
The cost of living in Ireland is relatively high. Students do not need much pocket money since everything is generally provided, e.g., transport, books, and activities. We recommend an average of €10 to €20 per week as pocket money. Irish families will feel uncomfortable if there is a student in their house who has too much money to spend. If desired, the pocket money of each student can be kept and administered by their tutor or host family.
